It seems the world bank has taken interest in creating awareness to the lack of access of contraception for the populous of developing nations. After reviewing the statistical information, vice president for the human development at the World Bank, Joy Phumaphi, decided that due to the 25 million unplanned pregancies in the developing world; it has augmented the poverty issues plaguing them. Phumaphi stated that women of wealthier nations are more likely to use contraceptives and have more successful pregnancies on average. To me this sounds like common knowledge. It seems a little repetative to produce this report, when it would have been better to figure out different sources in order to provide contrceptives to the countries. Interestingly enough, there was no mention in the report of AID/HIV prevention.... i know it is the World Bank but very interesting none the less.
